All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This document outlines essential terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Cheadle Hulme, you must be at least 21 years old, with age restrictions varying by vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur additional charges. A valid full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category is required, along with valid identification and proof of current address. Payment information and a security deposit must also be provided, as well as any other requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or at our Cheadle Hulme office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are usually required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same condition it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged appropriately. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as when collected; refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may incur additional fees, so notify us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle later than agreed. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. You will find full coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to minimize your financial responsibility. It is advisable to review these options carefully. You are liable for damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you purchase extra coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. Prohibited actions include racing, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous driving. Transporting hazardous materials is strictly forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The vehicle should not be used for purposes outside its intended design, nor should passenger or weight limits be exceeded. Driving beyond the agreed geographical limits requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Cheadle Hulme is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid for the rental in the prior 12 months. This does not affect our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraudulent actions.
9. Local Legislation
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.
Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
